On a Whim Crafting

     What is it about the holidays that make us so stressed. Isn't this time of the year when we reflect on what has gone on over the year, the good and bad times and moments that we will always remember. However over the years its has become a contest of how much did you spend on me.  This year money was even tighter then usual, so i gave from the heart. I have been crocheting like crazy, after I taught myself how to crochet by watching YouTube videos. If you are interested in learning some of the best videos I found easy to follow, understandable and full detail step by step, you may want to start with Mikey from The  Crochet Crowd  , Clare from BobWilson123 and Yolanda from Yolanda Soto Lopez on YouTube. They are great teachers. So with "there help" i was able to make some great scarves for my brother and sister, teachers and myself, hehe.

I know it is days after Valentine's Day but I thought I would share the cards I made for my daughter's class. It was a labor of love.

i picked up some cute scrapbook paper up at michaels. some of it was clearance priced at 19 cents a sheet. I also picked up mom's diner sheets at 25 cents a sheet. Im also thinking of making some t-shirts but need to make one more michaels stop since the shirts are priced at 2 bucks a piece. OH hunny... debit card please, LOL. (fingers crossed) Im hoping to get an early start to my day so I have time to play with my cricut. It sits so sadly in the corner just begging me to play with it.

I still have to post the pictures of my calendar but for now I thought I would share with you the cake I made my daughter for her 7th birthday. All came out well except for the lettering done with the writing gel, it was watery, but once I started I had to finish. Oh well I will get it right someday.lol.

I know it has been a month since my last post. First I must say that I FORGOT to take a picture of the China doll we made for my daughters project. Second with the holidays and the kids home from school it was hard to get anything done. I spent so much time at the doctors office over the winter break the doctor should have had a reserved parking for me, lol. Well everyone is healthy again and back in school. My first project of the year was a calendar of my children and grandchildren which took me one afternoon and the following morning to do. I used Simply Charmed cartridge for the embellishments and print creations software which came with my Kodak printer. Well today I have butterflies, since I will be taking my fitness test for police trainee, if I pass I will get to to to the academy which will start in June. If not I will have one more opportunity mid January. Wish me luck. Having trouble uploading the pictures I took of my calendar but I will get them up soon. Bye for now, S...

I know long silence. However this house has been crazy, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating have left me craft less. I am however working on a project with my little girl A for school. She has to make a child dressed in traditional clothes from China. I am using Pagoda. when we are done I will post pictures.

My baby girl is adorable and so photogenic. I have been wanting to put this picture of her in my scrapbook but just had not had the time to do a whole layout. So to save some time I took a 12x12 patterned paper and cut out the heart from potpourri cartridge at 11 inches and placed it on solid pink cardstock. Next at 2 1/2 inches I cut out the LOVE also on the same button as the heart. Last I added her picture which already had a border which I added at the time of print from Walgreens photo center. Happy with how it turned out.
